BRITISH COUPLE ARRESTED FOR HAVING EXTRAMARTIAL SEX IN DUBAI ?

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - A British woman and her lover were arrested in Dubai after they were allegedly caught in bed by his ex-girlfriend.
Danielle Spencer, 25, is said to have been caught with Toby Carroll in his apartment, a day after he split from his 24-year-old Brazilian girlfriend.

KOTA BARU, Malaysia - Kelantan Women, Family and Health committee chairman Wan Ubaidah Omar suggested that awards be given to assemblymen for marrying single mothers should they decide to take another wife.

Her suggestion drew support from backbenchers. All of them men who started thumping their palms on the table at the Kelantan State Assembly on Wednesday.
She said the assemblymen could increase their quota to help single mothers with young children and it would help greatly if the assemblymen assisted by marrying them.
Her statement prompted house speaker Nassuruddin Daud to ask Wan Ubaidah to explain the word “quota.”
“What I meant by quota is the number of wives; awards should be given to learned House members who take the lead in doing this and also for those who have already married single mothers.
“This would help to reduce the number of single mothers in the state,” she said in reply to a question by Hassan Mahmood (PAS-Tawang), who had asked what was being done to reduce the number of divorce cases and what efforts were being taken by the state government to help single mothers.
To a supplementary question, Wan Ubaidah said that based on state records, there were 16,500-registered single mothers below the age of 60 in Kelantan and this figure did not include those who had been left in the lurch by their husbands.
She said one dilemma facing some single mothers in Kelantan and the country as a whole was that many of them could not register at the Welfare Department or related agencies because their husbands had left them without filing for divorce.
She said that she agreed with the call by Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Nik Mat to whip irresponsible husbands who left their wives high and dry without any reason.
She said Kelantan spent RM2mil annually to look after the welfare of single mothers who had no source of income.
“Apart from that, we have organised entrepreneurial workshops to help single mothers earn a living.
“The government has also organised talks to educate the immediate families of single mothers to take the initiative to help and not leave them alone to fend for themselves.

YOUNG GRANDMOTHER CHARGED FOR TRAFFICKING DRUGS IN BRA

KUALA TERENGGANU, Malaysia - A young grandmother was charged in the magistrates’ court, for a drug trafficking offence that allegedly took place at the public toilet of the Majlis Bandaraya Kuala Terengganu (MBKT) bus station, last Thursday.
Harini Che Soh, 43, from Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, a single mother with four children and a grandchild, who was detained with 83gm of heroin at 6am at the bus station, was charged under Section 39B (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence if convicted.

However, no plea was recorded when the charge was read before magistrate Wan Nor Aklima Wan Salleh.
Wan Nor Aklima later set Aug 23, for the case to be heard and no bail was allowed.
Last Thursday, police detained Harini and another single mother, believed to be her colleague, aged 30, from Kuala Lumpur, during a raid at the bus station.
Police found 20 vials of heroine weighing 83gm hidden in her bra.

CATHAY PACIFIC PAIR COST THEIR JOBS AFTER AIRRAFT SEX SCANDAL

HONG KONG - Cathay Pacific has said two of its employees caught in a set of Internet photos apparently engaging in oral sex on board an aircraft have left the company.
The Hong Kong carrier launched an investigation last week after photos emerged of a woman in a red outfit resembling the Cathay cabin crew uniform performing oral sex on a man, reportedly her boyfriend, on board an aircraft.

"I can confirm that two members of our crew shown in compromising situations in photographs published recently in Chinese-language daily newspapers are no longer employees of the company. I know that many people were disturbed by the damage this incident caused to the reputation of our cockpit and cabin crews.“Cathay chief executive John Slosar said in a statement released late on Friday.
It was not clear whether the pair were sacked or resigned voluntarily, as the airline said it would not disclose details.
The airline also refused to say whether the incident took place in the plane's cockpit, but said the investigation found no evidence to suggest the act happened on any of its flights while airborne.
Cathay said the findings of the investigation would be submitted to the city's aviation authorities.
The photos prompted action from the Hong Kong flag carrier after they were circulated on an online forum for pilots and later attracted the attention of local media.

The unidentified man in the photo was reported to be a pilot but was not wearing a Cathay pilot's uniform, has reportedly told a local newspaper that the photos had been stolen from his personal computer.
Cathay Pacific has 13,000 staff around the world, including more than 8,000 cabin crew and 4,000 working in airports, according to its website.

GEORGETOWN, 21 Ogos: Novelis terkenal tanahair, Haji Azizi Abdullah meninggal dunia di Hospital Besar Pulau Pinang pukul 7.30 pagi tadi.

Rakan sekerjanya di Persatuan Pengguna Pulau Pinang (CAP), Zulkifli Mohd Yusuf ketika dihubungi mengesahkan perkara itu.

Jenazah Allahyarham Haji Azizi akan dibawa pula ke kediamanya di Taman Bersatu berdekatan Petronas Kulim tengahari ini.

Allahyarham meninggal disebabkan sakit jantung setelah lebih enam bulan di rawat di hospital berkenaan. -HD

GB telah menyiarkan satu entri khusus mengenai keadaan kesihatan Allahyarham Azizi pada 20 Mei yang lalu bertajuk Kalau ada pemimpin tertinggi PAS yang pergi menziarahinya, syukurlah tetapi jika tiada, maka beringatlah!

Kini beliau sudah tiada lagi, tetapi jasa beliau kepada perjuangan Parti Islam SeMalaysia belum sempat diiktirafkan oleh parti. GB agak terkilan sikap parti yang kurang mengindahkan pejuang-pejuang belakang tabir yang banyak membantu parti terutama yang menulis melalui blog-blog seperti Allahyarham Azizi.

Meskipun PAS mengakui sumbangan media baru terutama blogger yang menyebabkan kemenangan PAS di beberapa siri pilihanraya umum dan kecil, namun pemimpin tertinggi parti, dari satu muktamar ke satu muktamar, tidak pernah secara rasmi, menghargai sumbangan para blogger ini.

Sememangnya para blogger berjuang tidak mengharapkan balasan manusia, tetapi sepatutnya menjadi kewajipan parti menghargai sumbangan mereka ini.

Telah banyak diulas mengenai hal ini (ketidak-pekaan parti terhadap sumbanga blogger) sebelum ini, namun ia umpama mencurah air di daun keladi.... para pemimpin PAS sudah senang lenang dengan gaji dan elaun sebagai wakil rakyat sedangkan para blogger berhempas pulas separuh mati menjadi benteng utama parti di dalam siber dilupakan. Siapa yang ada memperdulikan nasib mereka selama ini? Hanya Allah s.w.t. Yang Maha Tahu.

Penah sewaktu GB sendiri satu ketika terlantar sakit di hospital, tak siapa ambil peduli. GB wujudkan sebuah tabung Kelab GB merayu simpati agar GB dapat terus membantu perjuangan parti, haram, tak der seorang pun YB-YB PAS menghulurkan simpati kecuali beberapa ahli bertaraf penampal poster yang menjadi rakan untuk berkongsi doa dan harapan. Sejak itu, GB kenal watak manusia yang memegang jawatan parti ini apatah lagi apabila sudah bergelar YB.

Itu sebab agaknya mengapa ramai juga blogger kita yang telah menarik diri seorang demi seorang di alam siber ini. Yang tinggal kebanyakannya blogger "100% salin-tampal", itupun mujur mereka masih rajin lagi. Dan mungkin ini juga salah satu faktor prestasi PAS sudah mula merudum di dalam pilihanraya-pilihanraya kecil kebelakangan ini sebagai hukuman terhadap kealpaan parti. Dan GB melihat, hukuman itu akan berjalan lagi ke atas pemimpin-pemimpin PAS, ramai yang akan kalah selepas ini. Entahlah. Diharap penglihatan GB itu tidak benar. Wallahu 'alam bissawab.

Tanah Merah: Seorang remaja perempuan berusia 13 tahun maut selepas sebahagian badannya dari telinga hingga ke punggung hangus terkena panahan petir di sebuah bangsal berdekatan rumahnya di Batu Tiga, Kampung Belimbing, dekat sini, kelmarin.

Kejadian pada jam 9 malam itu disedari ibunya, Rosnah Dollah, 49, selepas mangsa, Siti Munirah Nordin, tidak pulang ke rumah untuk berbuka puasa menyebabkan usaha menjejakinya dilakukan sekitar kampung, termasuk rumah rakan.

Ibu tunggal terbabit akhirnya mendapati anaknya meninggal dunia dalam keadaan terlentang di sebuah bangsal 50 meter dari rumah dengan telefon bimbit masih di sisinya.

Menceritakan kejadian itu, Rosnah berkata, sebelum kejadian, dia menegur anaknya kerana bergayut dengan telefon sepanjang hari.

“Saya tegur dia (arwah anak), dengan siapa dia bergayut kerana sepanjang hari dilihat tidak renggang dengan telefon bimbit.

“Mungkin bosan dengan teguran saya, dia kemudian keluar rumah dan sangkaan saya ketika itu mungkin dia ke rumah rakan.

“Selepas teguran itu, saya ingatkan dia masih di rumah rakannya dan berbuka di sana. Bagaimanapun, perasaan saya bercampur curiga berikutan dia masih tidak pulang selepas Maghrib, menyebabkan usaha mencarinya dilakukan di kawasan sekitar,” katanya ketika ditemui di rumah bapanya di Jalan Manal, di sini, semalam.

Rosnah berkata, dia terkejut mendapati rakan anaknya pulang ke kampung mereka di Salor, menyebabkan usaha mencarinya dilakukan di sekeliling rumah.

“Hanya Tuhan tahu perasaan saya ketika itu. Saya bimbang berlaku kejadian tidak diingini dan terus mencarinya meskipun keadaan sekeliling mulai gelap.

“Bagaikan tidak percaya apa yang saya saksikan apabila menemui anak dalam keadaan separuh tubuhnya hangus, dipercayai terkena panahan petir berdekatan kawasan bangsal semak dan terlindung dari pandangan umum,” katanya.

Katanya, ketika itu Siti Munirah dalam keadaan terlentang, manakala baju T hitam dan seluar pendek merah jambu yang dipakainya turut terkena panahan petir dan hangus sebahagiannya.

Sementara itu, Ketua Polis Daerah, Deputi Superintendan Abdul Aziz Mahmud berkata, mangsa ditemui 50 meter dari rumah dalam keadaan terlentang dengan sebahagian badan hangus. -hm

TANAH MERAH – “Saya mahu tidur puas-puas.” Itu ungkapan aneh yang diucapkan Siti Munirah Nordin (gambar), 13, pada cuti Nuzul Al-Quran Rabu lalu kepada ibunya sebelum remaja itu maut dipanah petir di bangsal berhampiran rumahnya dipercayai sedang menggunakan telefon bimbit di Kampung Belimbing di sini kelmarin.

Dalam kejadian pada pukul 5.50 petang itu, Siti Munirah meninggal dunia di tempat kejadian dengan kecederaan pada muka sebelah kanan dan kesan terbakar pada telinga, rambut dan punggung.

Mayat mangsa ditemui abangnya, Mohd. Firdaus, 16, pada pukul 9 malam setelah ahli keluarganya keluar mencarinya selepas tidak pulang ke rumah untuk berbuka puasa sejak keluar pada pukul 4.30 petang.

Telefon bimbit milik ibunya yang dipinjam mangsa pula ditemui di atas tanah di bawah bangsal tersebut.

Mangsa merupakan pelajar tingkatan satu Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Belimbing di sini.

Ibunya, Rosnah Dollah, 49, berkata, pada mulanya dia menyangka Siti Munirah pergi berbuka puasa di rumah kawannya tetapi terkejut apabila mendapat tahu kawan anaknya itu pulang ke kampungnya di Salor dekat sini.

Soal siasat SKMM: Jurugambar Suara Keadilan diaju soalan ‘bodoh’

KUALA LUMPUR: Yuisriah Yusof (gambar), Ketua Jurugambar Suara Keadilan – sebuah akhbar rasmi KEADILAN, berdepan pelbagai soalan tidak munasabah dan ‘bodoh’ sepanjang Suruhanjaya Komunikasi Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) mengambil keterangannya.

“Adakah patut SKMM tanya: Adakah kamu yang muat naik gambar dalam portal Malaysian Insider? Adakah gambar itu diubah suai?

“Saya jawab, kerja saya hanya tangkap gambar, tidak tahu nak adobe (ubah suai),” katanya yang tidak mahir menggunakan photoshop, malah komputernya juga tidak ada perisian itu.

Beliau ditanya kira-kira lapan soalan ketika memberi keterangan di pejabat SKMM di sini, petang ini ditemani peguam dari Lawyer For Liberty (LFL), Fadiah Nadwa Fikri.

Yuisriah atau lebih mesra dipanggil Kak Yuis dipanggil SKMM kerana membantu siasatan berhubung gambar kecederaan pengawal peribadi Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Fayyadh Afiq Albakqry.


Pada Himpunan Bersih 2.0 pada 9 Julai lalu, Fayyadh cedera teruk di muka dan hancur tulang pipi selepas terkena kanistes gas pemedih mata di laluan bawah KL Sentral.

Lima plat besi terpaksa dimasukkan di tulang pipi Fayyadh manakala Ahli Parlimen Shah Alam Khalid Samad yang turut berada di lokasi sama, pula cedera di kepala hingga menerima enam jahitan.

Gambar kecederaan Fayyadh yang berlumuran darah dan Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yang cedera, sempat dirakam Yuisriah yang membuat liputan di kawasan itu sebelum tersebar luas di internet.

Ketika ditemui di lobi pejabat itu, Fadiah menyatakan kekecewaannya dengan gelagat pegawai penyiasat SKMM kerana mengugutnya keluar dari bilik siasatan sedangkan beliau ada tanggungjawap terhadap anak guamnya.

“Apabila saya masuk ke dalam, sua pegawai itu menjerit, suruh keluar. Mereka ugut mahu panggil polis tapi bila saya tanya nama, mereka cuma kata – jangan bercakap soal undang-undang.

“Ini melanggar undang-undang dan mengancam saya selaku peguam. Saya kecewa kerana tidak menghormati saya sebagai peguam,” katanya. -KD

‘MCMC officers behaved like thugs’

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today questioned a journalist over a picture she had taken during the Bersih 2.0 rally.

But according to Lawyers For Liberty (LFL) coordinator, Fadiah Nadwa Fikri (pic), the officials had behaved like thugs in their intimidation and harassment of both her and her client.

Fadiah had accompanied her client, Yusriah Yusof, a photographer with opposition mouthpiece Suara Keadilan, to the MCMC headquarters earlier this afternoon.

Yusriah was being questioned over her picture of Anwar Ibrahim’s bodyguard, Fayyadh Afiq Albakqry, taken after he was hit in the face with a tear gas canister while shielding Anwar.

The picture of his bloodied face were among the many circulated online in the aftermath of the rally as evidence of police brutality.

When the investigating officer (IO) met them at the entrance, Fadiah introduced herself and said that she was accompanying her client into the investigation room. The IO denied her entry and an argument ensued.

“He said that lawyers were not allowed to be present during the questioning,” she told FMT. “I told him that under the Federal Constitution my client had the right to have her lawyer present and asked him what his basis was in disallowing that right.”

“I even asked him why she was being questioned and whether there was a report made against her. The IO said of course there is a report but he wasn’t going to divulge it to me.”

When Fadiah pointed out that even the police released reports to lawyers, the IO apparently shot back, “That is the police, we are MCMC.”

Shouting match

He, however, eventually reluctantly allowed Fadiah into the investigation room but then told her that he wanted to take her statement too.

“I refused and told him that I am merely accompanying my client and I’m not the party under investigation,” she said. “We continued arguing until he shouted ‘you’re a Malay, right? you’re a Muslim, right?… stop asking questions!’”

“I told him not to bring religion into this and to respect the law. He shouted back that if I wanted to talk about the law then I should go to the court because this was his office and he didn’t want to talk about it.”

Before a stunned Fadiah could respond, two more officers entered the room and shouted to her to leave. While she argued with them, the IO began taking Yusriah’s statement, disregarding the photographer’s obvious distress.

“I turned my back on the two and focus on my client,” Fadiah said. “These men were in the baju Melayu complete with the sampin and they were behaving like thugs. They were talking like the law didn’t apply to them.”

“I am shocked by MCMC’s arrogance and ignorance. Even when they called my client in for questioning they never sent her an official notice. Just a casual phone call.”

The two officers threatened to lodge a police report against her, but when she she asked for their names in return, they replied that she had no right to know as she was in their office.

Fadiah added that the line of questioning was to determine the authenticity of the picture and if copies had been distributed to other publications.

“It was obvious that they want to send out a warning that the public and journalists who take and distribute such pictures will be hauled in for quesitioning,” she said.

“It is pure harassment of journalists, particularly my client because they couldn’t even tell her the basis of the investigation or what law she had breached.”

Yusriah is the first journalist to be questioned over this picture. The Suara Keadilan editor is expected to be called in next as are the other media that have published the image. -FMT

Perdana menteri berkata kerajaan akan cuba melaksanakan sebarang cadangan penambahbaikan yang dibuat oleh jawatankuasa itu sebelum pilihan raya umum yang akan datang.

"Kami akan cuba, pasti ada sesuatu yang boleh dilakukan dengan kadar segera, sesuatu yang mungkin akan mengambil sedikit masa. Jadi, apa yang kita boleh lakukan dengan segera, kita akan lakukannya dengan segera," katanya dalam sidang media selepas mempengerusikan mesyuarat Majlis Tertinggi Umno di Menara Dato'
Onn hari ini.

Najib yang juga presiden Umno berkata bentuk-bentuk penambahbaikan pilihan raya akan dibincangkan dan ditentukan oleh semua wakil parti-parti politik yang menyertai jawatankuasa tersebut.

Ditanya mengenai pendirian pembangkang yang belum membuat keputusan untuk menyertai jawatankuasa itu selagi belum melihat terma rujukannya, Najib berkata penubuhan jawatankuasa berkenaan merupakan tawaran yang ikhlas daripada pihak kerajaan supaya setiap keputusan dapat dibuat secara konsensus.

"Ini merupakan tawaran ikhlas di pihak kami kerana perbincangan perlu diadakan di antara kedua-dua pihak supaya ada konsensus. Kita harap akan ada konsensus atas apa yang kita lakukan," katanya.

Mengenai permintaan pembangkang agar jawatankuasa itu diterajui wakil dari pihak mereka, Najib berkata perkara itu adalah mustahil kerana ia mesti diketuai oleh parti majoriti.

Mengulas mengenai dakwaan pembangkang bahawa terdapat beberapa individu yang menjadi penduduk tetap dan tersenarai sebagai pengundi dalam masa yang singkat, Perdana Menteri berkata Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) perlu membuat penjelasan mengenai kes tersebut.

"Mungkin ada individu-individu yang boleh jadi pertikaian tapi kita minta SPR buat penjelasan tentang kedudukan nama-nama tersebut memandangkan kecenderungan pembangkang membangkitkan nama-nama mereka," katanya. - Bernama

SHAH ALAM: Sehari selepas wartawan dan editor Utusan Malaysia diperintahkan untuk hadir di Mahkamah Tinggi di sini, perintah sama dikeluarkan pula kepada penerbit Buletin Utama, TV3 untuk memberikan penjelasan berhubung penerbitan berita yang 'menyerang' peribadi peguam utama di dalam perbicaraan kes pembunuhan jutawan kosmetik, Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya dan tiga rakannya.

Hakim Datuk Akhtar Tahir membuat keputusan itu pada Jumaat, selepas membenarkan permohonan peguam Manjeet Singh Dhillon yang memberitahu bahawa berita itu disiarkan pada pukul 8 malam, Rabu lalu dan dapat ditonton di seluruh negara, termasuk oleh dua rakan peguam, Datuk Ng See Teong dan Amer Hamzah Arshad.

Manjeet menambah, kandungan berita tersebut adalah sama seperti yang dilaporkan oleh Utusan Malaysia pada Rabu lalu, menerusi berita bertajuk 'Manjeet selalu burukkan kerajaan' yang memetik temubual antara wartawan, Raja Syahrir Abu Bakar dengan Ahli Parlimen Padang Serai, N, Gobalakrishnan. Katanya lagi, berita tersebut yang membawa maksud barisan pembelaan adalah alat kepada pemimpin pembangkang dan mempunyai motif tersembunyi dalam kes itu adalah bersifat subjudis (kacau ganggu kes yang masih berjalan) serta merupakan campur tangan kepada mahkamah dan juga pentadbiran kehakiman.

Hakim Akhtar kemudiannya berkata, perintah telah dikeluarkan kepada Raja Syahrir dan editor surat khabar arus perdana itu untuk hadir di mahkamah pada minggu hadapan, tanpa memberikan tarikh yang spesifik bagi memberikan penjelasan berhubung berita tersebut.

Sementara itu, perbicaraan yang masuk hari ke-26 menyaksikan Timbalan Ketua Balai Polis Selayang, Sarjan Mejar Ranjit Singh, 49, memberitahu bahawa tiga tertuduh, T. Thilaiyalagan, R. Matan dan R. Kathavarayan tidak pernah membuat aduan kepadanya semasa beliau melawat lokap pada pukul 3.25 pagi dan 3.30 petang, 10 September 2010.

''Mereka berada dalam keadaan yang normal dan tidak mengalami masalah kesihatan," katanya semasa menjawab soalan Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Saiful Edris Zainudin.

Sementara itu, semasa disoal balas oleh Manjeet, saksi yang mempunyai pengalaman selama 30 tahun itu mengakui bahawa lawatannya ke lokap tidak dicatitkan pada buku perharian balai, meskipun ia merupakan satu kemestian.

Tambahnya, ketiadaan catitan itu mungkin disebabkan kerana anggota polis yang bertanggungjawab menulis buku tersebut terlupa atau tersalah pandang untuk berbuat demikian.

Penggunaan perkataan 'terlepas pandang' oleh saksi dipersoalkan oleh Manjeet yang berkata, tidak mungkin anggota polis yang menjaga lokap tidak perasan jika Ranjit ada melawat lokap kerana kerana keadaan fizikalnya yang tinggi dan mudah dilihat.

Manjeet: Berdasarkan keterangan ini, adakah kamu mengatakan anggota polis tersebut tidak mematuhi peraturan?

Ranjit: Mungkin mereka terlupa.

Manjeet: Adakah kamu akan mengambil tindakan kepada anggota polis itu?

Ranjit: Saya boleh membuat aduan pada badan disiplin. Saya kena berbincang dengan Ketua Balai terlebih dahulu.

Manjeet: Jadi, jika kamu berbohong, siapa yang akan mengambil tindakan?

Ranjit: Saya telah bersumpah untuk bercakap benar, tidak boleh berbohong.

Ditanya bagaimana cara pemeriksaan di lokap dilakukan, Ranjit berkata beliau akan berjalan di hadapan sel dan melihat dengan mata kasar jika tahanan mempunyai masalah.

"Waktu lawatan dilakukan, ada juga tahanan yang akan mengadu sakit seperti sakit kepala atau sakit perut dan minta diberikan rawatan," tambah Ranjit.

Menjawab soalan Amer Hamzah, Ranjit memberitahu bahawa beliau tidak menerima sebarang aduan berhubung isu keselamatan atau perkauman dari tertuduh mahupun dari tahanan-tahanan Melayu yang terdapat di dalam lokap pada malam itu.

Selain Ranjit, terdapat empat lagi anggota polis dipanggil sebagai saksi kepada pihak pendakwaan dalam prosiding bicara dalam perbicaraan (TWT) yang diadakan untuk menentukan keadaan mental Thilaiyalagan dan Kathavarayan yang didakwa berada dalam keadaan tertekan semasa memberikan keterangan yang membawa kepada penemuan barang kes.

Prosiding TWT berakhir pada Jumaat, dan Hakim Akhtar menetapkan pihak-pihak yang terlibat untuk mengemukakan hujahan bertulis selewat-lewatnya pada Jumaat depan.

Thilaiyalagan, 20, dan Kathavarayan, 31, dibicarakan bersama bekas peguam, N. Pathmanabhan, 42, dan R. Matan, 21, atas tuduhan membunuh Sosilawati, 47, dan pemandunya, Kamaruddin Shamsuddin, 44, pegawai bank CIMB, Noorhisham Mohammad, 38, dan peguam, Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32.

Kesalahan itu didakwa dilakukan pada antara pukul 8.30 dan 9.45 malam, 30 Ogos 2010 di senuah ladang di Lot 2001, Jalan Tanjung Layang, Tanjung Sepat, Banting, dekat sini.

Pendakwaan dikendalikan mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman mati mandatori, jika sabit kesalahan.

Johor dibanjiri ayam disembelih tak sempurna

JOHOR BAHRU - Percaya atau tidak, beratus-ratus peniaga di negeri ini kini menjual kira-kira 60,000 ekor ayam segar yang amat diragui status halal dan kesuciannya setiap hari.

Jumlah tersebut meliputi 30 peratus daripada bekalan ayam di negeri itu setiap hari yang berjumlah 200,000 ekor.

Masalah tersebut berpunca daripada sikap segelintir pengusaha pusat penyembelihan yang menjalankan kerja-kerja penyembelihan tanpa mengikut prosedur ditetapkan.

Penolong Pengarah Penyelidikan Unit Halal, Jabatan Agama Islam Johor (JAIJ), Samsudin Paimi berkata, pihaknya bimbang pengusaha kecil kini semakin berani untuk mengaut keuntungan berikutan permintaan yang tinggi daripada umat Islam berikutan sambutan Hari Raya Aidilfitri tidak lama lagi.

"Pengusaha kecil seperti itu semakin berani untuk mengaut keuntungan dengan berselindung di sebalik logo halal tamat tempoh selain tidak mengikut piawaian JAIJ,'' katanya.

Beliau menyatakan demikian kepada pemberita selepas serbuan terhadap dua premis penyembelihan dan pemprosesan di Jalan Kampung Sawah dan Jalan Pontian-Johor Bahru di Pontian awal pagi semalam.

Dalam serbuan dari pukul 12 tengah malam sehingga pukul 4 pagi itu, JAIJ mendapati premis terbabit tidak melakukan proses penyembelihan dengan kaedah ditetapkan manakala logo halal sudah tamat tempoh sejak empat tahun lepas.

Turut membimbangkan JAIJ, katanya, ialah ramai pengusaha tidak memiliki tauliah penyembelihan selain mempraktikkan kaedah penyembelihan dan pemprosesan ayam sambil lewa.

Menurutnya, JAIJ sudah mewajibkan penggunaan label pada bahagian kepak ayam yang mengandungi maklumat penyembelihan dan status halal namun mereka tidak mematuhinya.

"Kita tidak mahu pengguna terus tertipu dan mereka seharusnya diberi kesedaran untuk hanya memilih ayam yang disahkan halal dan suci," kata Samsudin.

Beliau berkata, pemeriksaan akan terus dilakukan bagi melindungi kepentingan pengguna.

Samsudin berkata, JAIJ sudah mewajibkan pengusaha ayam di Johor membuat label yang akan diletakkan di kepak ayam yang mengandungi maklumat mengenai penyembelihan serta status halalnya.

Mengikut Undang-undang Perlindungan Pengguna (Pindaan) 2010 yang akan dikuatkuasakan bermula tahun depan, syarikat yang didapati bersalah menipu sijil halal boleh dikenakan denda sehingga RM5 juta bagi kesalahan pertama dan denda sehingga RM10 juta bagi kesalahan kedua. -kosmo
